About

Archery Headquarters is a full-service archery facility and pro shop located in Chandler, Arizona that has been serving archers of all skill levels since 1990. The business combines a retail pro shop with an on-site archery academy and indoor shooting range, offering a comprehensive archery experience under one roof.

The facility features an air-conditioned indoor practice range that accommodates up to eight shooters at a maximum distance of 30 yards. The range is open during regular business hours (Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Sunday and Monday closed). For those unable to visit during standard hours, Archery Headquarters offers a 24-hour range membership that provides individual door code access to the air-conditioned academy range after hours.

Beyond the practice range, Archery Headquarters offers an extensive array of services and activities. The facility provides lessons for beginners and experienced archers alike, with certified instructors teaching classes starting at $27 for a one-hour introductory session and six-week programs beginning at $130. The academy offers a Junior Olympic Archery Development program for children ages eight and up. For those without their own equipment, bow rentals are available for $20 per person plus range fees, with options for both recurve and compound bows.

The pro shop is a full-line archery retailer stocking the widest selection of bows and accessories in Arizona. Archery Headquarters provides comprehensive bow services including setup, tuning, string and cable changes, and repairs. The facility employs factory-trained technicians who can complete most repairs within 24 hours and offers warranties on bows from major manufacturers. Arrow services are also available, including refletching and cut-and-insert services.

The business operates a frequent rewards program called Club AHQ that provides members with one free hour of range time for their birthday and one free hour of range time for every five hours shot. Membership pricing is flexible, with options for hourly range passes at $10 per hour or monthly memberships at $35 per month with a six-month commitment.

Archery Headquarters goes beyond traditional range shooting by offering special events and themed activities. The facility hosts Cosmic Archery nights once monthly, featuring strobe lights and glowing targets for a unique evening shooting experience. Corporate team-building events are available starting at $250 per hour for up to 15 shooters, while birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette celebrations, and other private events start at $275 for an hour of shooting and 45 minutes of private room use. The facility also offers an "Intro to Bowhunting" seminar and can rent its Hoverball system for off-site events, an inflatable archery target system that uses foam-tipped arrows.

The business is deeply rooted in the archery community. Owner Randy Phillips, who founded Archery Headquarters in 1990, has served on the board of the Archery Trade Association for approximately a dozen years and currently serves on the Arizona Bowhunters Association board. The staff consists of experienced archers who participate competitively and recreationally in the sport. Academy Manager Tina Robb has trained under the former head coach of the U.S. Olympic Team and competes in both local and national tournaments. The facility works with local archery clubs, parks and recreation departments, homeschool cooperatives, 4-H organizations, and scouting groups to grow the sport in the area. Archery Headquarters has also contributed to industry advancement, having developed the EZ Fletch arrow-making tool in 1988 and collaborating with the Archery Trade Association on the Retail Growth Initiative in 2013.
