About

Blackwell Archery Range is located in Warrenville off Butterfield Road and operates as part of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. The facility features three separate shooting areas, each with its own specifications and seasonal availability. The beginner range offers eight lanes with targets up to 25 yards and operates daily from March through November. The advanced range includes 11 lanes accommodating distances up to 90 meters and remains open year-round, making it suitable for serious competitors and experienced archers. The interactive range provides nine lanes with targets up to 60 yards and is also available March through November. All three areas are equipped with bow racks, quivers, and limestone shooting lanes to accommodate archers of various skill levels.

Access to the range requires either an annual or daily permit, which can be purchased online through the Forest Preserve District's website or in person during business hours. The facility is open from one hour after sunrise until sunset daily, with extended hours on Wednesdays when it opens at 10 a.m. Archers should note that crossbows and broadhead arrows are not permitted on the range. Younger archers do not need their own permits but must be supervised by a permit holder, making the range accessible for families introducing new shooters to the sport.
