About

WCW Shooting Sports is a premier multi-discipline outdoor shooting facility located in Bothell, Washington, operated by the Wildlife Committee of Washington, a non-profit sportsmen's club founded in 1945. The organization has produced numerous elite archers over the decades, including Olympic hopefuls, World Cup winners, and world champions.

The facility features multiple specialized archery ranges designed to accommodate various skill levels and shooting disciplines. The Ed Eliason Archery Field is dedicated to World Archery competitions and has been the venue for numerous 720 and 1440 tournaments throughout the summer months. Many Washington State records have been shot on this range, and it serves as the home range for several USA Archery National Team members. The range is named after Ed Eliason, a 1972 Olympic archer who helped establish the facility. In 2018, five world records were set on this field by para-archer Kevin Mather.

The covered Flat Range offers targets from 20 to 80 yards with a sheltered shooting line, and features lit targets for evening shooting by members with special permission. Public shooters may use this range until 7 p.m. or dusk. The Bow Hunter Walk-Thru Range provides an immersive hunting experience with over 50 animal bag targets set in a natural hunting environment, featuring marked firing points and sheltered targets with unmarked distances to challenge shooters.

Beyond regular range shooting, WCW hosts the Annual Big Game 3D Shoot each July during the second weekend, a tradition that has continued for three decades. This public event features 3D targets ranging from large game animals such as bears and moose down to small game like squirrels, and allows archers to shoot while the facility's gun ranges remain closed.

The archery program is open to both members and the general public. Summer hours run from March through October, with the range open Sunday through Saturday (closed Tuesdays). Public shooting fees are affordable, with adult rates at $25.77 per visit and youth rates at $12.16. Five-visit punch cards are available for frequent shooters. Members enjoy extended access with special use hours available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Safety is a primary emphasis at the facility, with comprehensive range rules strictly enforced by a professional rangemaster. The range maintains high standards for archer skill and conduct, requiring shooters to demonstrate basic proficiency in placing arrows on target.
