Palomo Archery is the Peninsula's premier indoor archery range, located at 4022 Transport St in Palo Alto, California. This modern facility spans over 2,000 square feet and features a spacious 20-yard indoor range equipped with ten NFAA-regulation size shooting lanes, plus six additional movable bales for those wanting to practice at closer distances. The range has recently undergone significant upgrades, including ultra-bright LED lighting throughout the facility and new SpiderWeb bales that make it easy to see targets from a distance and simple to retrieve arrows after shooting.
The facility caters to archers of all skill levels, from complete beginners to competitive shooters preparing for state and national competitions. Palomo Archery is staffed by six USA Archery certified instructors, including national and state champions in various disciplines such as freestyle compound, barebow recurve, and Olympic recurve. The range offers individual 60-minute introductory lessons for newcomers at $75 per person (or $60 per person for groups), with equipment rental included. All lessons are scheduled Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., with multiple time slots available throughout the evening.
Beyond lessons, Palomo Archery provides 90-minute lane rentals for $20 per person, available to those who have previously received instruction from a certified archery instructor. The facility also offers advanced coaching sessions for intermediate to experienced archers looking to refine their technique and equipment. Members have access to a fully-equipped archery workshop where they can cut and build their own arrows or paper tune their bows.
The range hosts a variety of specialized programs and events. The Silicon Valley Archery Development (SVAD) program serves as a Junior Olympic Archery Development initiative for youth archers, with coaching from experienced instructors who have helped students win state-level competitions. During the winter months from October through March, Palomo Archery operates an indoor league held on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, welcoming competitors of all skill levels to participate in competition-format shooting. The facility also accommodates private events, including birthday parties, bachelor parties, and team-building experiences, with options ranging from 60 minutes to two hours of private range time, instruction, and equipment rental.
Conveniently located off Highway 101, Palomo Archery offers easy freeway access and ample parking directly in front of the building. The range is open Monday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is closed on Sundays, except for special league and event scheduling. The facility accepts cash, card, and PayPal for all services.
