About
Empty Quiver Archery is a 20-yard indoor archery range located in Broomfield, Colorado, featuring 28 shooting lanes. The facility serves archers of all skill levels and ages, providing year-round recreational and competitive opportunities in a controlled environment designed around safety and community.
The range offers comprehensive programming for beginners through advanced competitors. The facility operates beginner archery classes on Thursday evenings at 4:30 PM and 6:30 PM, and Saturday mornings at 9 AM, 12 PM, and 3 PM. These classes are designed for shooters age eight and older and focus on teaching proper technique, form, range safety, and basic shooting skills. Classes typically average 15 participants with three instructors on staff, ensuring personalized attention. For those seeking more focused instruction, Empty Quiver provides one-on-one private coaching available at almost any time the range is open, with advance booking required.
Beyond classes, the facility hosts multiple competitive and recreational leagues throughout the week. The Tuesday evening JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program, running from 6 PM to 8 PM, serves youth ages eight through 21 and focuses on Olympic-style archery competition preparation under National Archery Association-certified coaching. The Wednesday Target League offers friendly, non-competitive shooting from 7 PM to 8:30 PM in a 300 Vegas format designed to help shooters learn from experienced archers. Saturday evenings feature Black Light Archery events, typically held the third Saturday of each month, offering a unique social shooting experience. The Sunday X-Hunters Competition Club, meeting from 5 PM to 7 PM, is a competitive team with a track record of success at the Colorado State level and beyond. Additional seasonal leagues include 4-H archery programs and coaching for the University of Colorado Archery Team.
Empty Quiver's coaching staff comprises highly decorated archers with competitive credentials. The facility's coaches bring years of experience across multiple archery disciplines, including field archery, target archery, 3D shooting, hunting, and Olympic events. Coaches are committed to helping shooters develop proper fundamentals while progressing to whatever level of competition they aspire to reach.
The facility's Pro Shop provides comprehensive equipment services and customization. Services include draw length and weight adjustments, d-loop installation, nock set adjustments, peep sight adjustments, string serving, recurve limb alignment, string and cable installation, and component installation for sights, rests, and bow quivers. The shop features on-site string-making professionals who craft custom hand-made bow strings in any color and length for any bow type, using BCY materials. The shop also customizes arrows using Blazer Vanes and Gateway Feathers in customer-selected colors, offers arrow cutting, wrapping, cresting, and arrow straightening services. Recurve bows are available for rental at eight dollars per day, and all rentals include three arrows. Complimentary protective gear including gloves, tabs, and arm guards are provided to all shooters.
Empty Quiver fosters a welcoming atmosphere where beginners and experienced archers alike can develop their skills and build community. The facility's objective centers on elevating the sport of archery through education and promoting youth, family, and individual participation. No reservations or appointments are typically needed for league participation; shooters simply arrive and are welcomed into the program. The range maintains separate sections to accommodate both league shooters and open recreational shooters simultaneously.
The facility demonstrates strong community commitment through extensive charitable donations. Empty Quiver donates thousands of dollars annually to over 20 local schools, youth organizations including Scouts and 4-H, local churches, the Rocky Mountain Elks Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Mule Deer Foundation, and the Ronald McDonald House. Most donations take the form of gift certificates for silent auctions. The facility also accepts used equipment, which staff members restore and donate to local shooters who have earned recognition but cannot afford new equipment.
Empty Quiver Archery is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 10 PM, Saturday from 10 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Beginner classes cost $22 with personal equipment or $30 with equipment rental, with a five-dollar discount available for online bookings. The facility welcomes walk-in class participants up to 15 minutes before class starts, though advance booking is encouraged.
