About

Archery School of the Rockies is a comprehensive, not-for-profit archery facility located in Colorado Springs that serves archers of all ages and skill levels. The organization operates from a 20,000 square foot climate-controlled facility that allows shooters to practice year-round regardless of Colorado's weather conditions.

The range features over 50 lanes dedicated to 18-meter and 20-yard target shooting, with the ability to extend distances to 30 yards through a simple rotation of the shooting line. In addition to its target range, the facility houses one of the most extensive indoor 3D ranges in the region, offering a diverse collection of 3D target types, sizes, and difficulty levels. The 3D range includes an elevated shooting platform that allows archers to practice shooting from blinds in climate-controlled comfort, preparing hunters for real-world field conditions on opening day.

The facility is genuinely inclusive, welcoming archers aged 4 to 104 and accommodating shooters of all abilities, including those who are physically disabled, vision impaired, and higher functioning mentally disabled. Archery School of the Rockies supports a remarkably diverse community of archers, from those picking up a bow for the first time to Olympic-bound athletes and Paralympic competitors. The facility caters to recreational shooters, competitive archers, hunters, traditional archers, 3D enthusiasts, and target shooters alike.

In addition to range access, the facility offers extensive programming including memberships, private lessons, JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) teams for youth ages 8-20, S3DA programs, summer camps, homeschool programs, birthday party events, group team-building experiences, and special programming for scouts and senior groups. The organization operates multiple teams across different age groups, disciplines, and skill levels to ensure accessible training. All coaches are USA Archery Certified, Safe Sport certified, and thoroughly background checked.

The facility hosts a variety of competitive events throughout the year, including USA Archery sanctioned and World Archery approved tournaments with junior and senior divisions. The popular Buckle Shoot series draws hundreds of archers across four events, while the organization also offers casual leagues, fun shoots, and holiday-themed events.

Archery School of the Rockies operates a full-service pro shop offering an extensive variety of equipment from premium brands including Black Eagle Arrows, Carbon Express, Easton Archery, Fivics Archery, Gillo Archery, Gold Tip, K+K Archery, and Samick Archery. The pro shop provides equipment recommendations, complete bow setups, and tuning services. The facility also houses Bowman's Bowstrings, an in-house custom bowstring company, and Flying Arrow Eatery, a fully stocked coffee shop and kitchen offering beverages, light meals, and snacks.

The organization demonstrates a strong commitment to serving the military community through dedicated veteran programs. Every Thursday, all active duty military, veterans, and first responders shoot free of charge, with free coaching available after 6pm. The facility works extensively with organizations including the Wounded Warrior Project, Mount Carmel Veterans Service Center, Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Army's Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU). Dedicated classes for veterans include both shooting technique and bow servicing instruction, and the organization actively sponsors and encourages veterans to become certified coaches.

The facility is staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers who donate thousands of collective hours to coaching, equipment repair and tuning, facility maintenance, pro shop operations, and event staffing. The organization describes itself as a village and community where archers support and help one another through their unique journeys with the sport.
